MMU Achieves Top 3 Ranking in 2025 Patent Filings Among Private Universities

We are proud to share that MMU has been recognised by Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) as one of the Top 3 Private Universities (IPTS) in Malaysia for Patent Filings in 2025. The announcement was officially made on 13 February 2026.

The recognition highlights MMU’s strong performance in protecting high-value technological innovations through patent filings. These patents reflect tangible and commercially viable inventions, ranging from engineering systems and advanced materials to hardware innovations and applied technologies.

This achievement underscores the University’s robust research ecosystem, which continues to generate industry-relevant and market-ready solutions. It also reinforces MMU’s strategic emphasis on safeguarding intellectual property to ensure that innovations are not only developed but properly protected for long-term impact.

Together with the University’s recent success in copyright filings, the milestone demonstrates MMU’s comprehensive intellectual property capabilities, spanning both digital technologies and deep-tech inventions.
