

An International Knowledge Exchange session was held featuring delegates and speakers from China and Indonesia at Melaka campus in January 2026. Organised by the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) in collaboration with the Centre for Intelligent Cloud Computing (CICC), the session focused on the latest trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its real-world applications.
Prof. Ts. Dr. Md. Shohel Sayeed, Chairperson of CICC, welcomed the speakers, who delivered three engaging presentations, each highlighting a different aspect of AI. The session commenced with Dr. Yu Hao and Dr. Li Yan from Zhejiang University of Construction discussed AI-based preoperative prediction of bone cement leakage in PVP, demonstrating the potential of AI in healthcare.
Dr. Chai Lei from Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute introduced the audience to AI in music, complementing his presentation with a live saxophone performance. Finally, Mr. Herin Dwibima Aprianto from Universitas Duta Bangsa (UDB), Indonesia, explored AI in multimedia creativity, sharing insights on ethical challenges and copyright considerations.
The event concluded with a souvenir presentation by Prof. Ts. Dr. Md. Shohel Sayeed and closing remarks from Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Siti Fatimah Abdul Razak, Dean of FIST. Delegates also took a campus tour to experience MMU’s facilities and learning environment firsthand. Beyond the presentations, the session allowed participants to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and strengthen international collaboration in AI research.
