

On 15 January 2026, a Power BI Workshop was successfully conducted at LP Social, MMU Library, organised by the Cyberjaya Accounting Club (CAC) and Faculty of Management (FOM) in collaboration with MICPA x CA ANZ. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ exposure to industry practices and strengthen their practical understanding of Power BI as a key data analytics tool widely used in the accounting and professional services sector.
The programme commenced with the presentation of tokens of appreciation to the invited speaker, Mr. Roger Loh, and the event partner representative, Ms. Leong Pui Kuan, in recognition of their valuable contributions. This was followed by an informative session delivered by Ms. Leong, who introduced students to MICPA x CA ANZ, highlighting professional pathways, membership benefits, and the importance of obtaining professional qualifications for long-term career development in the accounting profession.
Subsequently, Mr. Roger Loh led a hands-on Power BI workshop, where participants were guided through the practical application of the software for data analysis and visualisation. Students gained direct experience working with real datasets, supported throughout the session by the organising committee and technical team to ensure effective learning.
The workshop attracted 35 participants, reflecting strong student interest in acquiring industry-relevant digital competencies. Active participation and interactive engagement throughout the session further enriched the learning experience and reinforced practical understanding.
In conclusion, the Power BI Workshop successfully achieved its objectives by equipping students with essential data analytics skills while enhancing their awareness of the role of professional bodies such as MICPA x CA ANZ in career advancement. The initiative underscores FOM’s continued commitment to bridging academic learning with industry expectations and preparing students for the evolving demands of the professional accounting landscape.
