A group of Master of Business Administration (MBA) students from the Faculty of Management (FOM) partook in an educational visit to the UFT Urban Community Farm, a strategic partner of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) on 20 January 2026 at Rekascape, Cyberjaya. Coordinated and organised by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Lilian Anthonysamy, the visit aimed at exposing students to sustainable agriculture practices and innovative urban farming technologies.

Led by Ts. Navin Sinnathamby, Head of the Department of Digital Agriculture Technology, together with Mr. Francis Chuah, Chief Executive Officer of Urban Farm Tech (UFT) Sdn. Bhd. They shared valuable insights on how digital technologies are transforming modern agriculture and enabling sustainable, scalable food production systems.

The students learned about advanced farming techniques such as hydroponics, aquaponics, and aeroponics, gaining a deeper understanding of how technology-driven solutions support food sustainability and urban resilience. The session also included a hands-on experience, where students sampled crispy chips served with basil salsa, prepared using farm-grown ingredients.

Overall, this experiential learning enabled MBA students to enhance their understanding how sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation intersect within modern business operations, reinforcing the importance of ESG principles and strategic thinking in driving long-term organisational value.
