
The Faculty of Management (FOM) welcomed Prof. Dr. Poon Wai Ching from Taylor’s University for an External Examiner visit on 22 January 2026 at the Cyberjaya campus. The visit was part of the faculty’s ongoing commitment to academic quality assurance and continuous improvement for the Bachelor of Analytical Economics (BAE) programme.
The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Hasni Mohd Hanafi, Deputy Dean (Academic and Innovative Learning), followed by a curriculum briefing by Dr. Norhazlin Ismail, BAE Programme Coordinator. Prof. Dr. Poon engaged in constructive discussions with the academic team on curriculum relevance and programme enhancements. She provided detailed feedback and recommendations to strengthen the BAE programme, ensuring it aligns with evolving market demands and the growing need for analytical expertise in economics.
As part of the visit, Prof. Dr. Poon also joined Dr. Wan Noor Elani’s Econometrics class for an interactive knowledge-sharing session. During the session, she highlighted the importance of econometric methods in economic analysis and shared practical insights from her experience in data analysis, giving students a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world applications.
The visit concluded with an exit meeting attended by Associate Professor Dr. Tan Booi Chen, Dean of FOM, Dr. Kwan Jing Hui, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate and Collaborations, and Dr. Abby Ashraff Saprudin, Deputy Dean of Student Experience and Alumni.
