On 5 January 2025, a group of students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) championed environmental responsibility and sustainability during the ESG Environmental Awareness Programme, organised in collaboration with the International Aero Training Academy (IATAC). The programme featured a series of engaging and educational activities, including the Plastic Waste Sorting Challenge, ESG UNO, and Eco-Craft Workshops, all designed to promote proper waste management and environmental protection.

This initiative was led by group leader Nichole Lim Yan Rou, under the guidance of Ms. Siti Nurul Huda Mohd (Advisor), with the primary goal of raising awareness about Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, emphasising environmental responsibility. Two groups of FOB students participated as both committee members and attendees. Special appreciation goes to Ms. Kelly (IATAC Representative) for her support and collaboration in making this programme possible.

The Plastic Waste Sorting Challenge included two interactive stations: the Bucket Sorting Game and the Spin & Answer Game, where participants worked in teams to correctly categorize different types of waste into appropriate recycling bins. Another highlight was ESG UNO, a sustainability-themed version of the classic card game, designed to test participants’ knowledge of recyclable materials.

The final activity, the Eco-Craft Workshop, encouraged creativity by transforming recyclable materials into functional items. Participants crafted handmade pen holders using provided resources such as cardboard, double-sided tape, scissors, and drink packaging. Overall, the ESG Environmental Awareness Programme successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of environmental sustainability and inspired responsible practices.
