The Centre for Management and Marketing Innovation (CMMI) organised a research talk titled “Mastering Mendeley for Researchers” on 15 January 2026. The workshop was organised by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Lilian Anthonysamy, Chairperson of CMMI, and supported by Dr. Yeo Sook Fern, Director of COE–BIC, and Dr. Stany, Co-chair of CMMI. The session aimed to support postgraduate students and academic staff in strengthening their research workflow through effective reference management practices.

The talk featured Dr. Afandi bin Yusof, Director of the Touchpoint Management Office and Senior Lecturer from Faculty of Business (FOB), who shared practical and hands-on insights on the effective use of Mendeley as a reference management tool. Dr. Afandi highlighted key features of Mendeley, including reference organisation, citation management, and housekeeping rules with Mendeley. The session also addressed common challenges faced by researchers in managing citations and maintaining consistency in academic writing.

Participants actively engaged throughout the session, with a dedicated question-and-answer segment held at the end of the talk. The interactive discussion allowed attendees to clarify practical issues and gain deeper understanding of best practices in using Mendeley for scholarly research. The session concluded with a group photo session involving the speaker and participants. The talk reflects CMMI’s ongoing commitment to building research capacity and promoting best practices in academic writing, research management, and publication excellence among the research community.
