The MMU Staff Awards 2025 was a day of celebration, recognising the dedication and hard work of the university’s academic and non-academic staff. The spotlight, however, belonged to Tan Sri Dr. Ghauth Jasmon, MMU’s first President, who was presented with the Lifelong Achievement Award for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the university.
Appointed in 1996, Tan Sri Dr. Ghauth laid the foundation for MMU as we know it today. He introduced programmes that were ahead of their time like Creative Multimedia, Animation, Virtual Reality, and Financial Engineering and helped shape MMU into a hub for innovation and technology in Malaysia. His vision and dedication continue to inspire both staff and students decades later.
The ceremony, organised by the Human Capital Management (HCM) team, was held at the Hatten Hotel, Melaka, and attended by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, MMU President & CEO, senior management, deans, directors, and staff from both Melaka and Cyberjaya campuses.
In addition to the Lifelong Achievement Award, the ceremony recognised staff excellence across multiple categories. Academic awards included the Best Teaching Award, Best Academic Programme Award, Best Academic Product Award, and Best Faculty Award. Research awards included the Best Researcher Award and Best COE Award, while non-academic awards recognised the Best Service Award, Best Role Model Award, and Best Department Award.
Guests enjoyed live music from MMU’s very own band, The Dean’s List, and a special performance by Siti Nordiana, which added a magical touch to the evening. The night also had two rounds of lucky draws, including a Grand Lucky Draw, keeping everyone excited and smiling.
The MMU Staff Awards 2025 was more than just an awards ceremony. It was a celebration of passion, dedication, and the people who make MMU what it is today, with Tan Sri Dr. Ghauth Jasmon’s award standing as a reminder of the vision and leadership that continue to guide the university forward.
Congratulations!
