Sekretariat Rakan Muda successfully organised School Attack: Sekolah Demokrasi (Siri 3: Zon Borneo) as part of the nationwide School Attack: Sekolah Demokrasi initiative aimed at strengthening democratic understanding among young Malaysians in October 2025. This series was conducted in three regions: Zon Selatan at SM Sains Muzaffar Syah (MOZAC), Zon Utara at Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman (STAR), and most recently, Zon Borneo in Sabah.

Aimed at promoting democratic literacy and civic consciousness among Form 3 to Form 5 students, the participants engaged with hands-on activities including voting simulations, participants were introduced to the processes, values, and responsibilities embedded within democratic participation. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR) Melaka, SPR Perak, and Akademi Pilihan Raya, ensuring credible guidance and meaningful exposure throughout the sessions.

The main school session took place at Sekolah Menengah Sains Sabah (SMESH) and involved 117 Form 3 students. Participants experienced the full electoral process from presenting manifestos to casting and counting votes, allowing them to better understand the importance of informed decision-making and responsible citizenship. The Suara Muda: Pentas Debat segment further encouraged critical thinking and public speaking, while the UniReady: Guide to Your University Life sessions delivered by MMU students provided early insights into tertiary education pathways and future aspirations. Additional activities such as ice-breaking sessions and treasure hunts fostered teamwork and student engagement.

A distinctive feature of this series was the incorporation of community service in Kampung Bandulan, Sepanggar, where the committee focused on improving literacy among children from underserved backgrounds using the 3M module (Membaca, Menulis, Mengira). Over 25 children showed noticeable improvement in basic literacy within just three days. With support from the Budimas Charitable Foundation, 60 Food Aid Boxes and 100 sets of school essentials were distributed, alongside activities such as Seronok Belajar 3M, motivational sessions, Hari Sukan Mini, gotong-royong, and a Food Aid distribution ceremony.

In total, more than 200 participants benefitted from this programme. School Attack: Sekolah Demokrasi (Siri 3: Zon Borneo) not only deepened democratic understanding among students, but also nurtured leadership, communication, teamwork, and cultural sensitivity among the organising committee—particularly through meaningful engagement with the Dusun community and the vibrant culture of Sabah. The popular Original Sabahan song has now become an emblem of unity and shared experience among the participants, symbolising the spirit and impact of the programme.
