MMU Strengthens Ties with Russian Institutions through MoU Signings at Malaysia–Russia JC-ESTC Meeting

MMU has further strengthened its academic and research collaboration with Russian institutions through the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod (LUNN) and the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) on 11 November 2025.

The MoUs were signed by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, Prof. Nikita Avralev, Rector of LUNN, and Prof. Boris Korobets, Rector of FEFU, during the 4th Meeting of the Malaysia–Russia Joint Commission for Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation (JC-ESTC) held at the Langkawi International Convention Centre (LICC) from 10 to 11 November 2025.

The exchange of documents was witnessed by YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd. Kadir, Minister of Higher Education, Malaysia, and H.E. Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

These partnerships mark an important step in enhancing cooperation in student and staff mobility, joint academic programmes, research collaboration, and cultural exchange. They also reflect MMU’s continued commitment to expanding its global engagement and supporting Malaysia’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations through education and innovation. Among the attendees was Dr. Sy. Nurleyana Wafa Sy. Naguib Wafa, Director of International Collaboration and Engagement.
