MMU Researchers Receive FRGS and PRGS Awards at Festival of Ideas Putrajaya 2025

On 6 November 2025, the Festival of Ideas (FOI) Putrajaya, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), featured an award ceremony to honour recipients of the 2025 Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) and Prototype Development Research Grant Scheme (PRGS).

This year, four researchers from MMU were selected as FRGS recipients, receiving a total grant amount of RM351,025.00, while one project was awarded under the PRGS scheme with a grant of RM163,228.80. The FRGS recipients from MMU are Dr. Yasothei A/P Suppiah @ Supaya, Dr. Ng Tuan Hock, Dr. Loh Yuen Peng and Ts. Dr. Nor Hidayati Binti Abdul Aziz. Meanwhile, the PRGS award was conferred on Assoc. Prof. Dr. R. Kanesaraj.

The awards were presented by the Director General of Higher Education, Datuk Professor Dr. Azlinda Azman. The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Sharlene Thiagarajah, Chief Executive Officer of TM Research & Development, who was present to witness the occasion.
