FOL Team Wins First Runner-Up at DAKSINA Debate Competition 2025

A team of three students from the Faculty of Law (FOL), namely Misha Qistina Fadzillah, Muhammad Iman Syahmi Mizuan and Muhammad Amir Hakimi Abdul Mutallib emerged as the First Runner-Up at the DAKSINA Debate Competition 2025 held on 2 November 2025. The team brought home a cash prize of RM1,800 along with a trophy to mark their achievement. Adding to the pride, Misha Qistina was named Best Speaker and received an additional RM500.

Organised by Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bharu, the competition took place at the Sultan Ismail Library in Johor Bahru, in conjunction with the National Language Month celebration. The programme aimed to promote the use of the Malay language while fostering critical thinking and effective communication among university students. The closing ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Haji Mohd Haffiz bin Haji Ahmad, Mayor of Johor Bahru, who also presented the awards to the winners.
