FET Students Discover the Power of 3D Scanning through Industry Sharing

Faculty members and students from the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) and Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours programmes attended an industry sharing session on “3D Scanning Technology” at Robospace, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), on 12 November 2025.

The session featured representatives from Drawbridge Technologies Sdn Bhd. Mr. Jonathan Tan, Sales Director, delivered a presentation on current trends in industry and the evolving role of 3D scanning technologies in modern design and manufacturing. Mr. Luqman Hakeem, Technical Specialist, provided a live demonstration highlighting the practical applications and advantages of 3D scanning in engineering and digital manufacturing.

Coordinated by Dr. Chockalingam and Dr. Em Poh Ping, the session offered students an eye-opening opportunity to better understand digital transformation in the manufacturing and design sectors while deepening their exposure to contemporary engineering practices.
