Multimedia University (MMU) leaps to Rank 124 globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026, placing the University among 911 institutions from 94 countries and territories. This advancement from its previous position in the 401 to 500 band highlights MMU’s growing relevance in addressing complex issues and real-world challenges in line with its Research-led, Industry-driven University (RIU) focus.

The Interdisciplinary Science Rankings, a project by THE in association with Schmidt Science Fellows, assess university performance across three areas: inputs (funding), process (measures of success, facilities, administrative support and promotion), and outputs (publications, research quality and reputation). Through this evaluation, universities are guided in strengthening scientific excellence and engagement across disciplines.

In pursuit of MMU’s vision of transforming society through innovation, interdisciplinary research remains central to our research culture. This achievement would not be possible without the continued support of our parent company, TM, a human-centred technology organisation. MMU continues to advance interdisciplinary science research for the benefit of future generations. Our appreciation goes to all staff, researchers, students, partners and collaborators for their commitment to MMU’s innovative and transformative research efforts.
