Two students from the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), Ahmad Zulhilmi bin Ahmad Zahidi and Satishwaran A/L Gobikannan, represented Multimedia University (MMU) at the Rakan NADMA Disaster Emergency Exercise (RANDEX2025) held from 5 to 8 October 2025 in Janda Baik and Genting Sempah. They were accompanied by Mr. Khairee Abd Rahman, an officer from the Student Lifestyle and Experience unit. The programme brought together over 30 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and private higher education institutions (IPTS) to strengthen collaboration and coordination among disaster response stakeholders.

The exercise simulated a large-scale flood scenario involving casualties and property damage, where participants were tasked to set up the Rakan NADMA Joint Operation Coordination Center (RJOCC) following real Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Zulhilmi and Satishwaran showed strong leadership and were entrusted to lead the mission, earning praise from the organisers. Mr. Khairee also served as an advisor to the NGO teams, reflecting the confidence placed in MMU’s representatives. Their involvement highlighted MMU’s commitment to nurturing resilient, responsible, and community-driven graduates who can contribute effectively during times of crisis.
