The Faculty of Cinematic Arts (FCA) wrapped up its Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) workshop, “The Art of Film Language: The Impact of Cinematography on Student Comprehension of Video”, with great enthusiasm on 4 October 2025 at MMU Cinema, Cyberjaya campus. Ts. Shahfeeq Jibin, the FCA Dean, applauded the students’ efforts in producing their video projects and encouraged them to continue exploring creativity, storytelling, and the impact of film in learning.

The workshop brought together students and teachers from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Permaisuri, SMK Putrajaya P9(2), and SMK Seberang Jaya, Pulau Pinang, offering a unique learning experience that blended education with the art of filmmaking.

During the final session, students from SMK Seri Permaisuri and SMK Putrajaya P9(2) attended in person, while participants from SMK Seberang Jaya joined virtually from Penang, highlighting how film can connect learners across distances and create a shared space for creativity and understanding.

The day began with a guided tour of FCA’s facilities, including studios, screening rooms, and production spaces, allowing students to experience the atmosphere of a university-level creative environment. The excitement continued with screenings of students’ video projects, where participants presented their cinematic interpretations and evaluated each other’s works with thoughtful reflection.

The session concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony and awards for outstanding participants, recognising their creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking throughout the workshop. A lively Q&A and reflection session followed, where students shared what they had learned about using film as a medium for understanding, empathy, and storytelling.

Well done!
