Alumni Workshop on Smart Living with IoT Inspires Future Innovators

On 1 October 2025, the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) in collaboration with the Centre for Alumni (CfA) organised a talk entitled “Smart Living with IoT: The Future of Connected Homes” at the Smart Lab, Melaka campus. The session was delivered by Mr. Chang Quan Yan, Founder of Mininja PLT and proud alumnus of MMU.

In his sharing, Mr. Chang provided valuable insights into how the Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionising everyday life and shaping the future of smart, connected homes. He highlighted how IoT technologies can enhance convenience, energy efficiency, and security in daily living. Beyond the technical aspects, he also shared his entrepreneurial journey and experiences in building his own venture, offering participants both practical knowledge and inspiration to pursue their own innovative ideas.

The workshop sparked engaging discussions among students and attendees, encouraging them to explore how IoT solutions can be applied to address real-world challenges.
