Two MMU students, Auni Raihanah Muhammad Yasser from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) and Muhammad Faris Fiqran Muhamad from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), took part in the Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) Language and Culture Summer Camp in Taiwan recently. The camp brought together 59 students from 13 countries, creating a platform for cultural learning and international exchange.
The programme featured a variety of activities, from crafting Chinese names, painting opera masks and paper fans, to making sky lanterns and learning about Ghost Month traditions. Students also visited MCUT’s research centres and departments, where they were introduced to Taiwan’s advancements in technology, innovation, and sustainability. Off campus, they experienced local culture through visits to the Atayal tribe, Dadaocheng, and the National Palace Museum, giving them a deeper appreciation of Taiwan’s heritage and traditions.
MCUT students acted as buddies throughout the camp, helping international participants navigate local experiences while fostering communication, teamwork, and cross-cultural understanding. The programme not only offered valuable lessons in language and culture but also strengthened global friendships and connections, leaving participants with meaningful experiences and lasting memories.
