MMU took another step forward in expanding its global partnerships by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Secretariat of Maaleatholhu Atoll Council, Maldives, on 4 September 2025 at the Cyberjaya campus. The MoU was formalised by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, and Mr. Ahmed Anees, President of the Atoll Council of Malé Atoll, Maldives, in a ceremony that marked the beginning of strategic collaboration between the two institutions.

This partnership, which began with the Council’s visit to MMU in October 2024, focuses on providing greater access to quality education for the Kaaf Atoll community through a fully funded scholarship scheme. It also emphasises capacity building, cultural exchange, and long-term development. Both parties are committed to fostering a meaningful collaboration that enriches students’ academic experiences while advancing the aspirations of both Malaysia and the Maldives.

Also in attendance were Mr. Zambri Pawanchik, Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Admission and Recruitment (SMART), alongside faculty leaders and MMU officers, who witnessed the significant milestone.
