Industry Experts Share Perspectives on Sustainability and Digital Transformation

Two industry talks were organised by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Lilian Anthonysamy of the Faculty of Management (FOM) to provide students with exposure to current industry trends and perspectives. On 2 September 2025, Mr. Ahmad Farouk Ahmad Fauzi, Executive in the Capability & Embedment Department, Corporate Sustainability Division, PETRONAS, delivered a session on “Fundamentals of Sustainability Strategy Development.” He addressed the triple planetary crisis of climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss, while introducing practical tools such as the Value Creation Model, Design Thinking, and the McKinsey 7-Step Problem-Solving Process.

The second session, held on 9 September 2025, featured Mr. Astra Hareyana Lorganaden, IT Operations Specialist at SWIFT Support Services Sdn Bhd, who spoke on “Digital Transformation: Bridging Finance and IT.” He discussed how digital technologies are reshaping the financial sector and shared advice on resilience and adaptability in a rapidly evolving industry landscape. Students engaged actively in both sessions, gaining practical insights that complemented their classroom learning.
