Fostering Patriotism among Kindergarteners with a USR Initiative

In conjunction with Malaysia’s Independence celebrations and to nurture the spirit of patriotism among young children, a group of students from the Faculty of Business (FOB), together with their lecturer, Ms. Ng Woan Ming, carried out a University Social Responsibility (USR) initiative with Pasti Genius Huffaz in Melaka recently.

The half-day programme engaged kindergarten students aged 4 to 6, beginning with a briefing on the Malaysian national flag, followed by a colouring contest. To acknowledge their participation, each child received a token of appreciation consisting of a bag of colour pencils, a pencil box, and MMU souvenirs, all made possible through public donations.

Winners of the colouring contest were also presented with certificates. This initiative marked a meaningful effort in fostering unity and national pride among the younger generation while strengthening the bond between the university and the local community.
