A total of 37 international students from Cyberjaya campus and 5 students from Melaka campus, all under the EPP (English Proficiency Programme), took part in the trip, accompanied by 5 lecturers. The trip began with a visit to A’Famosa Fort on Bukit Melaka, where students explored one of Malaysia’s most renowned historical landmarks. The group then proceeded to the Prison Museum in Bandar Hilir, which offered a unique and impactful experience. Students toured the facilities, entered the former prison cells, and observed a caning demonstration conducted for both civil and Syariah offences.
The journey continued to the Melaka Craft Complex. Here, students learned about traditional crafts such as basket weaving and batik colouring. The highlight of the visit was a Borneo dance performance, featuring intricately designed costumes, captivating music, and graceful movements. To conclude, students and lecturers joined in a lively ‘joget lambak’ session, which added a joyful finale to the day. Overall, the trip was both memorable and educational, fostering a deeper appreciation of Melaka’s rich heritage and cultural identity among the students.
