Let us extend our heartiest congratulations to the MMU Robocon Melaka team, comprising 16 students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), for winning the Best Sustainability Award at the Pertandingan Robocon Malaysia Peringkat Kebangsaan 2025  (ABU Robocon) recently. The team received a cash prize of RM2,000 for their achievement.

Guided by advisors Prof. Ir. Dr. Koo Voon Chet, Dr. Lim Chee Siong, Dr. Lim Boon Kian, and Assoc. MMU Robocon Melaka was the only private university team to make it to the quarterfinals, outperforming many other participants. ABU Robocon is one of the leading student engineering competitions in the Asia-Pacific region, aimed at nurturing young engineers to tackle real-world technical challenges.

The 2025 challenge featured a more complex theme , basketball robot,  which tested teams in both mechanical design and programming. The MMU Robocon Melaka team worked tirelessly in the lead-up to the competition to enhance their robot’s structure, scoring precision, and control systems. Despite the tough requirements, they successfully refined the robot’s performance while meeting all technical and safety standards.

Having made their mark once again, MMU Robocon Melaka has proven to be a strong and experienced contender in this competition. With a clear vision of their strengths and areas for improvement, the team is determined to reach greater heights in the future. They expressed their sincere appreciation to everyone who supported them, including MMU, Telekom Malaysia (TM), Student Lifestyle & Experience (STyLE), iRadar Sdn. Bhd., and Ciptify Konsep.
