A knowledge transfer programme entitled “Collaborative Craft-based Activities to Improve Geometric Visualization” was conducted by Ms. Tan Sin Yin from the CoE for Advanced Cloud Computing, and Ms. Lim Liyen from the CoE for Business Innovation and Communication, both from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST). The programme, supported and championed by the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), was carried out with Form 1 students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Infant Jesus Convent, Melaka, across four sessions recently.
Students explored fundamental concepts such as shapes, angles, and spatial awareness through guided exercises and collaborative learning. At the end of the programme, the students took part in an exciting “Geometrical City Model” challenge, where they worked in teams to design miniature cityscapes using everyday materials like paper, string, and cardboard. This activity not only reinforced mathematical concepts but also fostered creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
By connecting mathematics to real-world applications, this KTP project reflects the university’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in promoting quality education (SDG 4) and advancing ESG principles through community-driven knowledge sharing.
Well done to our KTP champions for making a difference in the community!
