In an effort to connect academic knowledge with real-world industry expertise, Dr. Jack Ng Kok Wah and Dr. Goh Han Hwa from the Faculty of Management (FOM) organised the Industrial Learning Partner (ILP) Sharing Series in August 2025. The programme engaged both undergraduate and postgraduate students in a hybrid mode.
On 17 and 25 August 2025, a session entitled “Smart Moves, Secure Futures: A Guide to Financial Planning” was delivered by Mr. Koh Kian Guan, Head of the Agency Builder Department, LPA Team. Focusing on actionable financial strategies, Mr. Koh simplified financial planning into practical steps, emphasising wealth protection, creation, and distribution. His session encouraged students to start making consistent, informed financial decisions early, linking personal finance concepts to real-life situations such as early career management, family commitments, and personal goals.
Another session, “C2C e-Commerce: Marketing Trends Shaping the Digital Marketplace in the Digital Economy,” was held on 24 and 25 August 2025, featuring Mr. Wong, Key Account Manager at Lazada. He shared his expertise on consumer-to-consumer (C2C) e-commerce, examining emerging trends, structural challenges particularly for SMEs and the sector’s contribution to the digital economy. Mr. Wong also highlighted potential career pathways in the evolving digital marketplace, providing students with a practical understanding of how C2C e-commerce is reshaping business models, consumer behaviour, and professional opportunities.
Overall, the ILP Sharing Series offered students a holistic learning experience, blending insights on financial literacy and digital commerce trends. These sessions helped students gain useful knowledge and practical insights to prepare for today’s digital economy.
