The Outdoor Activities and Recreational Society (OUTRECS) organised the Summit Odyssey: Conquering Kinabalu programme at Mount Kinabalu, Kundasang, Sabah in June 2025. The expedition brought together seven students and two staff members for a five-day adventure.

The programme was designed not only to challenge participants physically but also to cultivate resilience, teamwork and self-discovery. Climbing Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in Malaysia, tested the group’s endurance and determination, especially during the early morning hike to Low’s Peak. Despite the cold temperatures, fatigue and high altitude, all participants showed remarkable spirit, supporting one another every step of the way.

Throughout the journey, the team demonstrated a positive attitude and unwavering commitment. The experience became a testament to what can be achieved with unity, mental strength and encouragement from peers. This meaningful expedition was made possible through the dedication of the organising committee, the guidance of staff members Mohd Zulfadili bin Hamzah and Yusnita binti Mohd Yusof, and the strong support from OUTRECS.

Participants returned with not only new knowledge and stronger friendships but also lasting memories and the confidence to overcome future challenges. More than just a hiking trip, Summit Odyssey: Conquering Kinabalu was a journey of personal growth that will inspire everyone involved for years to come.
