The MMU Beamer ‘Balik Kampung’ tour continues its journey through Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang, sharing stories, sparking inspiration, and engaging with future talents. The tour, called Balik Kampung Pantai Timur, began on 20 July 2025 at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Zainab 1 in Kota Bharu. It was a special return for Ms. Siti Zaiton Ismail, who is now with MMU’s Human Capital Management team and an alumna of the school.
She shared her personal journey from being a student at SMK Zainab 1, to earning a Telekom Malaysia (TM) scholarship, and eventually building her career within the TM Group. Now with MMU, she returned not just to speak, but to connect with students in a meaningful way. Her session encouraged students to think about life after school about choices, growth, and the opportunities that higher education can bring. The all-girls audience was engaged, asking thoughtful questions and showing real curiosity for what’s ahead. Also present was Ms. Nur Amalyn Putri binti Mat Zawawi, an MMU student and fellow alumna, who added to the meaningful homecoming.
The second stop was at MRSM Kuala Terengganu on 21 July 2025. Over 400 students joined the session led by Ms. Hayati Othman, Senior Director of Human Capital Management at MMU, and an alumna of the school. Her return was heartfelt. She shared her own experience of growing within the TM Group and stepping into a leadership role. Her talk was honest and inspiring, showing students what’s possible with focus and purpose.
On 23 July 2025, the third stop took place at SMK Tengku Afzan in Kuantan, Pahang. This time, the session was led by Ts. Natalya Rudina Dato’ Shamsuar, Director of Strategic Marketing at MMU. Her presence reinforced the message of growth, opportunity, and building a future through education.
The MMU Beamer tour is more than just outreach. It’s about connecting with communities, nurturing young dreams, and showing students what they can become. Every stop is a chance to inspire, to plant seeds of ambition, and to shape future leaders.
