On 25 June 2025, an industrial visit to Daikin Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. was organised by the Industrial Linkage Committee (ILC) of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), MMU Melaka. A total of 25 students from the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours programme participated in the visit, gaining valuable insights into real-world engineering applications.

The programme commenced with an introduction speech by Dr. Chin Wai Meng, Deputy General Manager of Daikin R&D Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., who also serves as an Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) member for both the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programmes at FET. His warm welcome set the tone for an informative and inspiring visit. This was followed by a company profile presentation at the DRDM Training Room. Students were then guided through the DRDM facility and DAMA Factory 1 & 2, where they observed various aspects of manufacturing processes and workplace practices.

A key highlight of the visit was a talk by Mr. Lim Chun Ming, Head of the Digital Innovation Department at Daikin R&D Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., and an alumnus of MMU Melaka (Mechanical Engineering, Class of 2012). His session, titled “Beyond Blueprint: Exploring Diversity for Engineers,” provided students with valuable perspectives on innovation, adaptability, and continuous professional growth in the engineering field. The visit concluded with a Q&A session and a group photo, marking the end of a highly engaging and educational experience for the students.
