On 23 June 2025, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, led the delegation in a productive meeting with the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Terengganu to explore collaborative opportunities in technology and capacity building. The MMU delegation was warmly received by Ir. Ts. Gs. Osman bin Abdullah, Director of DID Terengganu.
Both parties exchanged views and discussed centered on potential partnerships in IoT and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies for flood monitoring, alongside upskilling initiatives for DID personnel in the areas of AI and digital innovation. This engagement was made possible through the initiative of Kapten Bersekutu (PA) Ir. Ts. Muhammad Zulhusni bin Che Razali, District Engineer at DID Terengganu, whose efforts in connecting MMU with the department were instrumental in fostering this strategic link.
Looking ahead, the university is eager to collaborate with DID Terengganu to co-develop innovative solutions, enhance knowledge transfer, and contribute to building resilient communities across Malaysia through applied research and interdisciplinary expertise. Also participated in this visit were Prof. Ir. Dr. Zulfadzli Yusoff, Vice President of Market Exploration, Engagement & Touchpoint, Dr. Olivia Tan Swee Leng, Datin Noorlindah Hassan and other MMU officers.
