Nine students from the Diploman Accounting programme represented MMU in the MICPA x CA ANZ Accountancy Week Quiz Competition, which took place from 22 to 26 April 2025. Divided into three teams, the students competed against over 100 participants from both public and private universities across Malaysia.

Throughout the competition, the students were mentored by their dedicated lecturers, namely Ms. Lim Su Yin, Ms. Norliza Darus, and Ms. Fathiah Hashim, who provided guidance and support. One of MMU’s teams advanced to the final round, earning a spot among the top four. Despite facing stiff competition, they displayed impressive determination and teamwork, ultimately finishing in fourth place.

Although the championship title was just out of reach, the students gained invaluable experience that will strengthen their journey toward becoming competent professionals in the accounting field. This opportunity allowed the students to put their academic knowledge into practice while developing critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills essential for the future.

The MICPA x CA ANZ Accountancy Week, now in its 25th year, was organised by the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) in collaboration with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ). With the theme “Shaping Future-Ready Minds,” the event featured various activities, offering students a chance to explore career prospects, network with peers, and participate in intellectually stimulating challenges.

Well done!
