On 10 June 2025, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) hosted an alumni sharing session featuring Mr. Terence Fan Jian Meng, a graduate of the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programme who is now pursuing his Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering at FET.
The session was tailored for current diploma students, offering a relatable perspective from someone who had recently completed the same programme and successfully transitioned into a degree pathway. Mr. Terence shared his academic journey—from choosing his diploma after secondary school to overcoming challenges during the Movement Control Order (MCO), completing his final year project, and preparing for life as a degree student.
He also spoke about the importance of making the most of internship opportunities and participating in co-curricular activities, which enriched his student experience. His insights provided useful guidance for those considering their next steps at MMU, especially in continuing within the same faculty.
By hearing directly from a peer who has walked the same path, the attendees gained a clearer understanding of what lies ahead and how to prepare for it. The session strengthened the sense of community within FET and reinforced the value of sharing knowledge and experiences among students at different stages of their academic journey.
