On 10 June 2025, the Faculty of Business (FOB) hosted an enriching industrial talk tailored for students majoring in International Business at the Melaka campus. The session featured an inspiring alumni speaker, Mr. Mok Zhi Hee, who graduated from the same programme in 2022. He returned to campus to share valuable insights from his professional journey and daily experiences in the field of inventory and warehouse operations with more than 40 students in attendance.

Currently attached to JK Wire Harness as an Inventory Executive, Mr. Mok provided a comprehensive view of inventory management processes—from receiving and tracking shipments to handling packing and outbound logistics. He also introduced the audience to real-world challenges commonly faced in inventory departments and demonstrated how structured problem-solving tools, such as the 5-Why Analysis, are applied in professional settings to address issues like stock shortages and misplacements.

An engaging session with a hands-on activity was also conducted, where students participated in group-based 5-Why problem-solving exercises. This was followed by a mini demonstration on Microsoft Power Automate, through which students learned how automation can streamline business processes, reduce human error, and increase efficiency in routine tasks such as generating airway bills and tracking deliveries. The exposure to Power Automate, a free Microsoft tool, gave students a glimpse into how modern digital solutions can complement inventory systems like Monitor G5, which are widely used in the industry.

Mr. Mok concluded the session by offering practical career tips, encouraging students to develop core digital skills and automation logic. He also motivated them to plan ahead, build their resumes with meaningful achievements, and embrace learning opportunities beyond the classroom. It is hoped that the session has inspired students to apply their academic knowledge in real-world contexts and to equip themselves with the digital competencies required in today’s evolving business landscape.
