Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmad, a lecturer from the Faculty of Management (FOM) was honoured to serve as one of the judges at the International Youth Accounting Forum (IYAF) held on 21 June 2025. Organised by the Accounting Student Association of STIE Indonesia Banking School in Jakarta, the event gathered young accounting enthusiasts from across the globe to explore the theme “The Role of Accounting in Supporting SDGs.” Dr. Abdul Aziz evaluated presentations by finalists from Indonesia, Malaysia, and India during the final stage of the competition, which showcased innovative ideas and diverse perspectives on how accounting can contribute to sustainable development.

The forum featured an international speaker who shared expert insights on the importance of aligning accounting practices with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Presenters submitted five-minute video presentations on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, while general participants shared two- to three-minute video responses, promoting meaningful cross-border dialogue and increased awareness on the critical role of accounting in achieving global sustainability goals. All in all, Dr. Abdul Aziz’s involvement as a judge reflected MMU’s continued efforts to engage in global academic platforms and contribute to shaping a socially responsible generation of accounting professionals.
