A group of undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (FAIE) participated in a talk titled Artificial Intelligence (AI) Optimization for Electric Vehicle (EV) Smart Charging Systems” by Ir. Ts. Siow Jat Shern, Director of Alliance MEP Sdn. Bhd. and a proud FAIE alumnus, on 17 June 2025 at the Cyberjaya campus.

Organised by the Industrial Linkage Committee of the faculty, the session focused on the growing global adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) and the resulting need for smart, adaptive charging systems. Ir. Ts. Siow introduced participants to key AI techniques used to enhance EV charging infrastructure, including demand forecasting, energy load balancing, and predictive analytics for user behaviour. He also emphasised how AI integration contributes to grid stability and supports more efficient energy usage in urban environments.

The talk aligned with the faculty’s increasing focus on AI applications, green technologies, and smart energy solutions. Many attendees stayed back after the session to further engage with the speaker through questions and discussions on real-world applications. The session was well received, and the Q&A segment demonstrated interest and enthusiasm from the audience.
