A talk titled “Impact to Manufacturing: Zero Trust Quantification & Smart Manufacturing Cybersecurity” was conducted at the Cyberjaya campus on 18 June 2025. Jointly organised by the Career Connect and Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), the invited speaker was Mr. Eric Ong, Senior Director of Global Information Security at Donaldson Filtration (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.
In this session, Mr. Eric highlighted the fundamentals of Zero Trust architecture, explained the differences between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT), and elaborated on how the global cyber threat landscape is reshaping the way industries secure their operations. Attendees gained insights into how cybersecurity strategies must adapt to protect critical infrastructure, especially within smart manufacturing environments.
The talk session also featured tips and advice on excelling in interviews by Ms Michelle, our Permata Dunia class of 2011, who present during the event as the Donaldson Filtration member. This talk also served as an avenue for the Career Connect to further strenghen the collaboration in terms of potential partnerships, internship pipelines, and iCadet initiative and others in an effort to nurture future-ready graduates.
