A group of Diploma students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) carried out a meaningful initiative titled Go Green: Planting Treewith Kindergarten Children under the Personal Social Responsibility (PSR) subject at Tadika Seri Berjaya, Bukit Beruang, Melaka on 13 May 2025.

The two-hour activity aimed to cultivate environmental awareness and foster a love for nature among young children. A total of 30 enthusiastic kindergarten students, all aged 6, participated in the hands-on experience, comprising 16 boys and 14 girls. This community engagement project was guided by Ms. Nur Faezah Binti Jayiddin, the advisor for the PSR subject, and led by Aleesha Binti Mohd Irwan Shah Taran, the student leader of the MMU team.

The session began with an engaging briefing on the importance of planting trees and caring for the environment. Each child received an “I’m a Tree Hero” sticker to celebrate their role in the activity and boost their excitement. The MMU students then guided the children in preparing for the planting session.

During the 15-minute planting activity, the children enthusiastically placed young plants into the soil, supported and encouraged by the MMU team. After planting, everyone helped clean the area, reinforcing the values of responsibility and teamwork. Before leaving, the MMU students distributed goodies to the children and took group photos to commemorate the event.

This initiative allowed our students to make a positive impact in the local community while inspiring environmental consciousness among young learners. Through simple yet impactful efforts, the project successfully planted not just trees but seeds of awareness and responsibility for a greener future.
