MMU Team Crowned Champion at the 2025 Chinese Debate World Cup – Malaysia Division

We are proud to announce that MMU emerged as the Champion of the 2025 Chinese Debate World Cup – Malaysia Division. Represented by an outstanding team comprising Tin Chee Ming, Angela Lo Feng Ming, Tan Xuan Zhi, and Chong Chun Shien from the Faculty of Law (FOL), along with Yong Jia Hao and Quah Yu Wei from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), MMU secured this prestigious victory in April 2025 at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

The tournament brought together the nation’s top university debate teams, and this triumph marks a remarkable back-to-back win for MMU, who also clinched the championship title in the 2024 regional edition. Jointly organised by the Chinese Debate World Cup Asia-Pacific, the USM Chinese Language Society, and Dr. Campus Debate Academy, the tournament saw competition among eight elite teams, including Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and other institutions. MMU team will also represent Malaysia on the global stage at the Chinese Debate World Cup in Beijing, China.
