A total of 38 students from the Faculty of Management (FOM), accompanied by Dr. Farha Zafira Agos Lokman, participated in an educational industry visit to Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn. Bhd. on 13 May 2025. This visit was part of the university’s ongoing efforts to provide students with experiential learning opportunities that bridge the gap between academic theories and real-world practices in airport management.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the Airport Relations team, led by Madam Wan Hasnezareena Wan Omar, Manager of Airport Relations, Customer Experience Management at the Airport Management Centre. The visit continued with an informative session delivered by Mr. Noor Azli, Manager of the Performance Optimisation Unit. He shared insights into the strategic direction and leadership of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), efforts to achieve operational excellence, and current industry challenges. He also highlighted key innovation and sustainability initiatives implemented at KLIA, along with various Customer Experience (CX) programmes designed to enhance service quality and passenger satisfaction.

Following the briefing, students embarked on a guided tour of KLIA Terminal 1. Highlights of the tour included a photo session at the iconic KLIA Vertical Garden and sculpture, as well as walkthroughs of operational areas such as the Domestic Centralised Screening zone and the Self-Service Baggage Drop (SSBD) area. These behind-the-scenes experiences offered students a valuable perspective on airport logistics, technology integration, and customer management processes.

In conclusion, this industry visit provided students with a comprehensive understanding of airport operations, leadership, and innovation within a complex service environment. The exposure not only enriched their academic experience but also inspired them to explore future careers in airport management, logistics, and related fields.
