On 17 May 2025, a delegation from the Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET) visited the 29th International Machine Tools, Metalworking & Automation Technology Exhibition (METALTECH 2025), held in conjunction with AUTOMEX at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur. Organised by the FET Industrial Linkage Committee, the visit aimed at exposing academic staff to the latest advancements in machine tools, metalworking technologies, and automation systems.

Academic staff from the Bachelor of Electronics Engineering (Robotics & Automation) with Honours and Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours programmes actively participated in the visit. They explored cutting-edge technologies including industrial robotics, smart factory systems, precision manufacturing, and AI-driven automation, key components in today’s Industry 4.0 landscape.

The engagement offered valuable insights into the evolving industrial ecosystem, aligning with the faculty’s goal of delivering future-ready engineering education. Exposure to such real-world innovations enables MMU’s academic staff to enhance their teaching and learning experience while identifying opportunities for collaboration and curriculum development.
