The Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (FAIE) marked a significant milestone as it made its public debut during the national-level celebration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2025. The event, hosted by Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) in collaboration with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), was held on 28 April 2025 at Dewan Tun Canselor, MMU Cyberjaya campus.
Graced by YB Tuan Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources, the event also welcomed Mr. Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of TM, and Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU. Thousands of occupational safety and health professionals were in attendance, making it a fitting stage for FAIE’s official introduction to the public.
Evolving from the university’s strong engineering legacy, FAIE represents a strategic transformation that places Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the core of its academic direction. The faculty unveiled a new programme—the Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Applied Artificial Intelligence, a three-year, full-time course designed to equip students with hands-on experience in machine learning, automation, and intelligent systems. This initiative reflects MMU’s ongoing mission to nurture future-ready graduates equipped to deliver AI-driven solutions across industries such as healthcare, transportation, agriculture, and digital services.
As the university under TM, MMU continues to advance national priorities in digital talent development, and FAIE stands as a symbol of that commitment—blending tradition with innovation to shape a smarter, tech-driven future.
