Empowering Students to Stand Out in the Job Market

A career development session titled “Career Workshop: Let’s Be the Most Extraordinary Candidate!” was held at the Smart Lab, FIST Building on 26 April 2025. The workshop, conducted by experts from MYFutureJobs (PERKESO), provided valuable insights and practical guidance to students from three faculties: the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), and the Faculty of Business (FOB).

The event was jointly organised by Career Connect and the FET team, with leadership from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liew Kia Wai, Deputy Dean of Student Experience and Alumni, along with Mr. Yong Yik Seng, Cadetship/Industrial Training Programme Coordinator, and Ms. Pang Shen Yee.

During the session, the MYFutureJobs representatives shared expert advice on job market trends, resume building, interview techniques, and ways to stand out in a competitive job landscape. The workshop proved to be an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical knowledge that will help them navigate their career paths and enhance their employability.
