Career Connect continues to strengthen industry-academic linkages by organising impactful engagement sessions with leading professionals across various sectors. In three recent events, Deriv Sdn Bhd, NHA Advocates & Solicitors, and Keysight Technologies shared valuable insights with MMU students, underscoring the university’s mission to prepare graduates for a technology-driven, globally relevant workforce.

On 22 April 2025, Career Connect and the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI) co-organised an Inspirational Sharing Session (I³) titled “Building with AI in the Real World”. The session featured Dr. Waqas Awan, Senior Vice President of Products, and Mr. Raunak Kathuria, Vice President of Engineering from Deriv Sdn Bhd.

Both speakers provided valuable perspectives on the practical implementation of artificial intelligence in today’s industry landscape, helping students bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application. The session concluded with an exciting announcement: Deriv will sponsor two cash awards for the Best Gen AI Final Year Projects under FCI — RM5,000 for the first prize and RM3,000 for the runner-up.

Continuing the momentum, on 28 April 2025, Career Connect, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, organised another edition of the Inspirational Sharing Session (I³) titled “Wearing the Robe: Reflections from My Legal Journey” at MMU Melaka. The featured speaker, Ms. Nurul Hafidzah Hassan, Managing Partner at NHA Advocates & Solicitors, shared her inspiring journey in the legal profession.

Her talk offered candid reflections on the challenges, achievements, and personal growth throughout her career. Emphasising the values of resilience, continuous learning, and ethical practice, Ms. Nurul Hafidzah inspired students to pursue legal excellence with integrity. Her session sparked thoughtful discussions and encouraged aspiring legal professionals to embrace the demands and rewards of the field.

Rounding off this impactful week, on 24 April 2025, Career Connect collaborated with the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (FAIE) and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) to host a career-focused industry session with Keysight Technologies at the NMES Lab, Cyberjaya campus.

The session began with welcoming remarks by Ir. Professor Dr. Hezerul Bin Abdul Karim, Deputy Dean of Student Experience & Alumni of FAIE, followed by Assoc.
