On 21 May 2025, a Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) titled “Financial Health Check-Up and Scam Awareness” was conducted at Pusat Komuniti Desa Asahan, Jasin, Melaka. This session marked the second outreach effort under its KTP initiative by the teams of the COE for Sustainability and Governance and COE for Business Innovation and Communication.
A total of 15 participants, comprising residents of Asahan from various backgrounds including small business owners, homemakers, and retirees took part in the programme. The workshop focused on essential financial literacy topics such as personal budgeting, financial goal setting, and scam prevention strategies. Interactive components like the “Wheel of Life” activity helped participants assess their financial priorities in an engaging and practical way. The session created a strong sense of community as several attendees shared personal stories of falling victim to financial scams, fostering an open and supportive learning environment.
The programme helps build financial resilience within local communities by empowering individuals to take control of their finances and stay informed about scams, thereby supporting broader efforts toward financial inclusion and community well-being.
