FOM Students Gain Knowledge on New Product Development Process from Industry Expert and Leader

A total of 35 marketing students from the Faculty of Management (FOM) participated in a sharing session on the new product planning process from the industry perspective, recently.  The session was conducted by Mr. Ting Ted Sun, the Managing and Creative Director of SPM Syarikat Permainan (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, and he is also the appointed Industrial Learning Partner (ILP) for the Product Planning and Management subject for this trimester.

SPM is a local board game company that produces a variety of games ranging from children, classic family, modernized traditional, party, strategy, and word games. Dr, Tan Booi Chen, an academic from FOM invited Mr. Ting to share his insights on three important elements in developing new products which are innovation, invention, and intellectual property. The speaker summarised his talk with ideation, ingredient, incubation as well as encouraged the students to embrace any challenge and never be afraid to experiment.
