Ten groups of students from the Faculty of Management (FOM) participated in the product pitching day virtually on 12 November 2021. The event, which was held for the Product Planning and Management class, aimed to enable the students to experience or involve in the journey of new product development process. Dr. Ong Jeen Wei, the Director of Alumni Engagement, Career and Entrepreneurship Development had been invited as the judge of the pitching.
The students from the Bachelor of Marketing programme presented their pitching session for 10 minutes and followed by a Q&A session. The students learned about the concepts of new product development processes and demonstrated the product prototypes together with their proposed launch decisions. Dr. Tan Booi Chen, the subject coordinator organised the session. The champion of the pitching was Group 1 which consists of Bappi Mohammed Sharia, Fawzy Elsherbini, Lee Pei Tian, and Lee Zi Sen. The winning group had developed a reading illuminant prototype for ease and convenient reading.
