The Faculty of Business (FOB) recently hosted a virtual visit from Prof. Dr. A.K.M Ahasanul Haque, the programme external examiner for Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing Management) (Hons.). The visit was kicked off with a welcoming speech by Dr. Lye Chun Teck, the FOB Dean, followed by an interview session with all Marketing Management Unit lecturers and students. The session aimed to evaluate whether the academic curriculum of the programme, academic staff, educational resources, and the university’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) is at par with the best practices in the industries.

Apart from that, Prof. Ahasanul was also invited to give a talk titled, ‘Halal Supply Chain in Malaysia: Opportunity and Challenges during the COVID-19 Pandemic’. The students were introduced to the non-conventional marketing practices on Halal Supply Chain and exposed to the threats faced by halal marketing practitioners during the pandemic. The speaker also shared his insights on how the Halal Supply Chain helped to overcome the shortfall in the Malaysian economy. At the end of the talk, the students had a chance to engage with the speaker and helped students to gain a deeper understanding of the related topic.

Prof. Ahasanul is a professor in Marketing, Department of Business Administration, International Islamic University Malaysia. With his professional involvement in many international organisations including the American Marketing Association (AMA), Institute of Marketing Malaysia, Academy of World Business and Marketing Management, World Business Institute (WBI), International Academy of Business and Economics Society (IABE), and other societies, the faculty believes that Prof. Ahasanul’s assessment can provide impactful insights to the BBA Marketing Management Programme to further improve the programme.
