MMU Researchers Win Silver Medal at MTE 2020 SE-COVID-19 International Innovation Awards

We are proud to share the achievement of MMU researchers for winning silver medal at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2020 Special Edition- COVID-19 International Innovation Awards on 2nd November 2020. The event is to acknowledge and celebrate all innovations in response to the pandemic situation, COVID-19.

Their project “COV CTX: Lung CT-Scans and X-Rays Artificial Intelligence Enabled Analyzer for COVID-19 Cases” is on application of artificial intelligence, specifically deep learning, for identification of COVID-19 infected lungs. In addition, the team also incorporated patient management system with location tracking ability into the app.

The main inventors are postgraduate students from the Centre for Engineering Computational Intelligence, Faculty of Engineering & Technology namely, Mr. Md Armanur Rahman, Mr. Chy Mohammed Tawsif Khan and Ms. Sharifah Noor Masidayu Sayed Ismail. They were led and guided by their supervisors namely Dr. Nor Azlina Ab Aziz and other academics; Dr. Nor Hidayati Abdul Aziz, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamarulzaman Ab. Aziz, Ts. Ms. Siti Zainab Ibrahim, Dr. Md Jakir Hossen, Ms. Syabeela Syahali, Ms. Norhidayah Mohamad, and Ms. Muharniza Azinita Musa.
