Multimedia University (MMU) signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with Maruwa Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (Maruwa) and SR Scaffold Resources Sdn. Bhd. in separate ceremonies, recently.

Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, the President of MMU signed the MoU on behalf of the university. Datuk Manimaran Anthony, the Chief Executive Officer of Maruwa and Mr. Mohd. Sazli Zah @ A.Aziz, the Chief Operating of SR Scaffold Resources Sdn. Bhd. signed the MoU on behalf of their institutions.

Through the signing of the MoU between MMU and Maruwa, both of the institutions agreed to collaborate in research and development (R&D) projects which related to engineering, information technology, creative multimedia, accounting and management fields. The agreement also encompasses the establishment of joint Research Centre of Excellence and a Maruwa Professorship Chair as well as internship placements and career opportunities for MMU students. Maruwa, a global leadership for the electronics industry, also offered an opportunity for students to gain more hands-on experience particularly for industry-linked final year projects and providing sponsorships and financial assistance.

Meanwhile, the MoU between MMU and SR Scaffold Resources Sdn. Bhd. also for collaboration efforts in relation to scaffolding competency training programmes and joint exploration that is related to occupational safety and health. MMU will provide a training site and place for the programme, which suits the theory and practical aspect of the training. On the other hand, SR Scaffold Resources Sdn. Bhd., a well-known company for continuous education programme related to scaffolding industry, will provide required trainers of Department Of Occupational Safety And Health (DOSH), assistant trainer(s), assessor (DOSH Assessor) and manage DOSH’s competent documents & registration upon completion of training programmes
