MMU Adjunct Professors

Multimedia University has appointed qualified pools of experts from the industries, organisations and universities as the Adjunct Professors. These experts would share their knowledge from their life and professional experience. Our students would be able to learn, engage and acquire insights to broaden their learning horizon. 

Below is the list of the Adjunct Professors for each faculty.

FACULTY OF LAW (FOL)

The Honourable Tun Dato’ Seri Zaki Tun Azmi is the MMU’s Chancellor. He started his career with the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) in 1969. Subsequently, he was appointed as a Magistrate in Kuala Lumpur (1970), a President of the Sessions Court in Ipoh (1971-1972), a Federal Counsel at the AGC (1973-1976) and a Senior Federal Counsel at the Ministry of Home Affairs (1976-1985). In 1985, he made his way into legal practice as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. While in practice, he also sat on several public listed companies as a director as well as chairman of the Board Audit Committee. One of the companies which he participated was PETRONAS (the national oil company, which today has spread it wings throughout the world). On 5th September 2007, he was appointed as a Judge of Federal Court.  Three months later, he was appointed as the President of the Court of Appeal, the second highest judicial office. On 18th October 2008, he was appointed to be the 12th Chief Justice of Malaysia which he served until his retirement on 9th September 2011. With the establishment of the Judicial Appointment Commission, he became the first Chairman on 16th February 2009. At present, he is also the Chancellor of Mahsa University and the Chief Justice of the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts.

Justice Datuk Vernon Ong Lam Kiat was elevated as a Judge of Federal Court, Malaysia on 8th August 2019 until now. Prior to that, his Lordship served as a Judge of Court of Appeal, Malaysia (September 2014 – August 2019), a Judge of High Court of Malaya (April 2010 – September 2014) and a Judicial Commissioner of High Court of Malaya (August 2007 – April 2010). Before serving in the Judiciary, his Lordship practised as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya since 1993. His Lordship was a Barrister at Law of Lincoln’s Inn, London and was admitted to the English Bar on 23rd July 1981 and the Malaysian Bar on 23rd October 1982. His Lordship obtained his Master of Laws degree in 1993.

FACULTY OF COMPUTING AND INFORMATICS (FCI)

Raja Azrina Raja Othman is the Chief Information Security Officer of TM. She holds a Master’s degree in Information Security and Computer Crime from Glamorgan University, UK and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Lehigh University, USA. She is a certified Lead Auditor (ISMS), and past certifications include GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst Gold by The SANS Institute, USA. She was awarded Senior Information Security Professional from (ISC)2 Information Security Leadership Award (2010). Raja Azrina is a registered Technical Expert of Laboratory Accreditation Scheme of Malaysia (SAMM) for Common Criteria and Assessor of Scheme for Accreditation and Certification Body for ISO/IEC 27006 (ISMS) under the Department of Standards Malaysia.

FACULTY OF INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (FIST)

Mr. Mahathir Said is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TM Nxera, Malaysia. He is a professional with over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and IT industry. His expertise covers SAP ERP architecture, IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and data center operations.

Having served in key leadership roles across Telekom Malaysia, TM ONE, TM Global, and Credence, he has driven major digital transformation initiatives and large-scale technology deployments. Beginning his career at Multimedia University (MMU) managing campus IT infrastructure, Mr. Mahathir has since become a results-driven leader known for his strong technical acumen and strategic vision in advancing Malaysia’s digital ecosystem.

Mr. Roshdi Hj Ahmad is an accomplished industry leader with more than 35 years of experience across corporate strategy, operations management, human capital development, and ICT industry advancement. With over 18 years in the cybersecurity domain, he has been instrumental in supporting Malaysia’s national cybersecurity landscape through his long-standing contributions to CyberSecurity Malaysia, where he currently serves as Acting Chief Executive Officer. In this role, he provides leadership and strategic direction, drives key stakeholder engagement, and oversees organizational operations and planning.

Previously, Mr. Roshdi held senior leadership positions, including Senior Vice President and Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Industry Affairs, where he spearheaded strategy development, talent initiatives, project management, marketing, and cybersecurity industry collaboration. His experience also includes tenures at several major conglomerates, including Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), MRCB Multimedia Consortium, and Malaysia Airlines.

Mr. Roshdi holds a Master of Science in Information Management and brings extensive executive training from Harvard Business School, alongside technical credentials in cybersecurity, making him a valuable contributor to academic and industry-linked programmes.

FACULTY OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ENGINEERING

Ir. Azizi is the Chief Technology and Information Officer of TM. He holds an MBA from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University, USA. He had also attended leadership program at Harvard, Cambridge and Stanford. He is a Professional Engineer registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia. Prior to his current appointment, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (Commercial & Technology) since 1 September 2020. He has more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, which includes engineering, operations, sales, product development and management in both fixed and mobile industry.

Mr. Sun Fangping currently serves as Senior Vice President of ZTE Corporation, in charge of Global Services. With over 20 years of experience in the telecom industry, Mr. Sun has been working overseas in more than 100 countries across five continents. As the owner of many integrated projects, he has played a leading role in setting industry benchmarks for the delivery of projects in the global high-end markets. Mr. Sun is a state-certified senior engineer and an expert in project management. Mr. Sun Fangping is a graduate of Northwestern Polytechnical University and holds an EMBA degree from Tsinghua University.

Noor Mohd Helmi Nong Hadzmi is the Founder of IX Telecom, a communications technology company and one of the top MSC status companies. Upon graduation, Helmi worked at a start-up Telco Company, while simultaneously pursuing his Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering at MMU. He then moved to another start-up airline company, Air Asia, where he built the company’s network and communication infrastructure. In 2012, IX Telecom was awarded the prestigious Alliance Gold Partner status by British Telecom.

Prof. Kenzo Takashi is a Professor for International Strategy at the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from Kanazawa University in 1966, received PhD degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1986.Prof. Kenzo was attached to several academic institutions as Professor including University of Fukui, Japan (2004-2008), Multimedia University, Cyberjaya Malaysia (1998-2003) and International Organisation Asian Institute of Technology (1992-1995).

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (FET)

Professor Dr. Zahriladha is a Professor and Coordinator of Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the Faculty of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). He received the B. Eng. and M. Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 1998 and 2004 respectively. He obtained his Doctorate from The University of Leeds in 2010 in the field of Microwave Engineering. From 1998 to 2002, he was with STMicroelectronics, based in Malaysia where he worked as Product Engineer before he joined the academia. His research interests include variety of microwave device development such as planar and non-planar microwave filters, amplifiers and antennas. He has published more than 100 scientific papers in journals, proceedings and book-chapters. Together with his research team, he has secured more than 25 research grants with a total amount of approximately RM 2 million and holds 5 intellectual property rights. He has won several awards including gold medal during several research and innovation exhibitions at the national and international level.

Professor Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh is a Professor in Electronics and Communications Engineering at NIIT University (NU). He has 29 years of experience and his areas of interest are modelling of submicron MOS devices, low power VLSI circuit design, and renewable energy system design. Prior to joining NU in 2020, Dr Singh worked in Multimedia University Malaysia for 15 years first as Senior Lecturer, and then, as Associate Professor of Engineering and Technology. He began his academic career as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in BITS, Pilani in 1995 and was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor in 2003.

Professor Dr. Olanrewaju Sulaiman Oladokun is the Director of Seanexus BlueBiotechnology and a Scientist affiliated with Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, Bremen, Germany. He has vast experience in research related to Ecohydraulic, nature-based solutions, circular bioeconomy, climate change adaptation, seaweed biomass, precision agriculture, seaweed biofuel, bioremediation and bioplastic, Water, Energy and Environment, Ocean Engineering, Maritime Technology, Marine electronics and instrumentation. He obtained his PhD in Marine Technology, Safety & Environmental Risk and Reliability Modelling of Complex Marine Systems. He is the author of 12 books and more than 180 peer Review journals. Editor of book chapter “Marine Technology and Sustainable Development”. He also published several books & peer review Journals as well as being in the Editorial board of several top-tier journals.

FACULTY OF BUSINESS (FOB)

Major (Honorary) Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dato’ Paduka Prof Dr Fng Ah Seng, JP is the Managing Director of Epic Valley Holdings Sdn. Bhd. The company was established in 1999 and has been a growing property development company, particularly in the northern region of Malaysia. Tan Sri Fng is a famous philanthropist, who is also the Chairperson of Yayasan Muhibah Tan Sri Fng Ah Seng. For his academic background, Tan Sri Fng holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Houston, Texas, U.S.A; a Master of Business Administration from San Diego International University, U.S.A; an Executive Master of Business Administration and a Doctor of Business Administration from Australian Institute of Business, Adelaide, Australia. In 2018, MMU awarded the Honorary Doctor of Management during the convocation ceremony at Cyberjaya campus.

Tan Sri Mohamad Salim bin Fateh Din has been appointed Chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) since 1 March 2023. He is also the Executive Vice Chairman of Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), having served as its Group Managing Director from 2013 to 2018.

Throughout his career, Tan Sri Salim has held notable positions, including Non-Executive Chairman of Giant Malaysia and British American Tobacco (Malaysia) Berhad, as well as Commission Member and Interim Chairman of MCMC. He currently serves as a member of the Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad.

He has received numerous accolades for his contributions to the property industry, such as the Masterclass Property Icon of the Year (2016) and Global CEO of the Year (2015).

FACULTY OF CREATIVE MULTIMEDIA (FCM)

Mohd Nizam Abdul Razak is the Managing Director or Founder of Animonsta Studios Sdn. Bhd., an animation content developer, specialing in feature films, TV series, merchandising and other related products in the intellectual property business. He graduated from Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons.) (Film and Animation) in 2005. The popular BoBoiBoy animated series in 2011 brought Nizam fame and international recognition. In March 2016, BoBoiBoy: The Movie, was premiered in theatres and earned a gross of RM16 million at the box office and BoBoiBoy Movie 2 collected RM30 million in 2019.

Juhaida Jeomin is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of GIGGLE GARAGE Sdn. Bhd., is one of our Permata Dunia graduates of Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons.) (Film and Animation) in 2000. Giggle Garage Sdn Bhd creates original character brands and animated content of high-quality children and family entertainment worldwide. In 2019, Juhaida was awarded the Women Entrepreneur Icon (Digital) by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development Malaysia for allowing chances and openings to women in the digital field.

Muhammad Usamah Zaid Yasin, started his production house, Wau Animation and has successfully produced a popular animated series in Malaysia called Ejen Ali. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons.) (Film and Animation) from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia in 2006. The series of Ejen Ali won several local and international awards namely Best Short Animation at the 28th Malaysian Festival; Best 3D Animation Programme at Asian Television Awards and Best 3D Animation Programme or Series at Asian Academy Creative Awards. In 2019, Ejen Ali The Movie, an animated feature film garnered over RM30 million box office collection in Malaysia.

FACULTY OF APPLIED COMMUNICATION (FAC)

Liz Kamaruddin is a senior communications specialist with more than 25 years of experience in Malaysia and international markets. She specialises in multiple sectors including energy, finance, banking, aviation, telecommunications and hospitality and has experience in various communications practices particularly reputation management, strategic communications, strategic planning, corporate and government stakeholder management and others. She is the only Malaysian in the world’s three most prestigious PR and marketing awards. She was named one of ‘Top 500 Most Influential PR Professional in PR Week Power Book 2014 and 2015’ by the global PR Week magazine and included in the ‘Power List 2014 – Top 50 Most Influential People in PR’ by PR Week Asia. The Internationalist, New York also named Liz Kamaruddin as ‘The Internationalist of the Year 2014’.

FACULTY OF CINEMATIC ARTS (FCA)

Bront-Palarae

Bront Palarae is a distinguished professional in the entertainment industry, boasting over two decades of experience in acting, producing, and storytelling. He has contributed to more than 70 film projects in seven countries, focusing his current activities in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. A prominent figure in film industry policy, Bront has served on the National Film Development Corporation’s Advisory Committee. His dedication to social impact is highlighted by his role as the UNICEF Malaysia Ambassador for the “My Promise to Children” campaign from 2014 to 2015, advocating for children’s rights and well-being. Bront’s extensive industry experience and commitment to social causes enrich his multifaceted career profile.

FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT (FOM)

Dato’ Mohd Khalis Abdul Rahim has over 25 years of experience in human resource management across government-linked companies and multinationals. He has held senior leadership roles spanning organisational development, change management, performance management, industrial relations, and talent development. He previously served as Group Chief Human Capital Officer of Malaysia Aviation Group, where he led people transformation and talent strategies across the organisation.

He holds a Master in Human Resource Management from the University of Canberra, Australia, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Psychology from Coventry University, United Kingdom. His professional achievements include being named Chief Human Resource Officer of the Year and receiving the HR Leadership Award at the Global HR Excellence Awards, as well as being listed among the 100 Most Influential Global HR Professionals by the World HRD Congress in 2017. In 2024, he was further recognised with the HRD Excellence Award (Individual Category) at the 51st ARTDO International World Conference.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ir. Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa is Chairman of Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) and has more than three decades of leadership experience in the telecommunications and financial services industries. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications Engineering from Plymouth Polytechnic, United Kingdom, and has completed senior leadership programmes at Kellogg School of Management, Oxford’s Saïd Business School, and IMD Lausanne. On 15 November 2023, he was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Management and appointed Adjunct Professor by Multimedia University in recognition of his contributions to corporate leadership and academia.

He began his career at Telekom Malaysia (TM), later serving as CEO of Lucent Technologies (Malaysia) before returning to TM as Group CEO and Managing Director from 2008 until 2017, where he spearheaded the rollout of Malaysia’s first high-speed broadband service. His achievements have been recognised with awards including CEO of the Year (Minority Shareholder Watchdog Group, 2015) and Telecom CEO of the Year (Telecom Asia Awards, 2017). He currently chairs Maybank Foundation and Maybank Labuan Foundation, is a Director of Perdana Leadership Foundation, and serves on the Board of Governors of Malay College Kuala Kangsar.

Datuk Imri Mokhtar is the former Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), a position he held from August 2022 until July 2023. He has more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications, media, and strategy, having also served in leadership roles at Astro, McKinsey & Company, and Celcom Axiata. Within TM, he advanced through senior positions including Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President of unifi, Acting GCEO, and later MD/GCEO.

He earned his Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours from University College London and has completed leadership and business programmes at Cambridge Judge Business School and Harvard Business School. During his tenure, TM undertook a major reorganisation to consolidate its domestic businesses under TM Technology Services Sdn Bhd (TM Tech), part of its strategic drive toward a human-centred “TechCo” model integrating connectivity, digital services, cloud, and data solutions in line with Malaysia’s digital aspirations. His professional focus has encompassed digital transformation, customer-centric business models, and ESG priorities, and he has engaged with Multimedia University through initiatives such as the iCadet programme and industry forums.
