A new chapter began for MMU’s October 2026 intake as new students arrived at the Cyberjaya and Melaka campuses for their welcoming session on 31 October 2026. The session marked their first step into university life, introducing them to the MMU community and the experiences that await them.
The freshies then embarked on a week-long orientation programme from 1 to 5 November 2026, featuring various immersion and networking activities. Through the programme, they were introduced to university life, campus facilities, student support services and the opportunities available at MMU. It also provided opportunities to meet fellow students, interact with university representatives and build friendships as they settled into their new environment.
At the Melaka campus, the new students also participated in the Kempen Internet Selamat on 1 November 2026, attended by Communications Minister YB Dato’ Seri Fahmi Fadzil. Organised by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the initiative brought together 700 new students to raise awareness of safe and responsible Internet use, including the importance of recognising and staying alert to online threats. During the programme, YB Dato’ Seri Fahmi also officiated the appointment of Wira Internet Selamat, an initiative to encourage students to promote online safety awareness among their peers and the wider community. Also present were Prof. Ir. Dr. Zulfadzli Yusoff, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development, and Prof. Dr. Hishamuddin Ismail, Director of MMU Melaka Campus.
The orientation week concluded on 5 November with a closing session led by MMU President and CEO, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, who joined the students in person at the Cyberjaya campus, while students in Melaka participated virtually. The session provided an opportunity for the new students to hear directly from the President, who shared his advice and encouragement as they began their university journey.
With new friendships formed, familiar faces met and their first experiences of campus life behind them, the October intake is now ready to take on the opportunities and experiences that await them at MMU.
